Say "I Do" to Vera!

Vera Wang is no rookie when it comes to bridal fashion. Designing gowns for Chelsea Clinton, J. Lo, Jennifer Garner, and even Kim Kardashian to name just a few. With her affordable lines at Kohl's and David's Bridal, it's no surprise she has signed on to Zales jewelry too!  That's right ladies, Vera Wang is now designing engagement rings for Zales. The new line is expected this fall.

"It's all about pretty," Zac Posen say about his elegant line of evening gowns and cocktail dresses. Here are a few of my faves that were showcased during NYC Fashion Week.

Shel's New Do

What's a better thing to post about, than my sister's bold (for her) new hairstyle! Shel has always had long crazy curly hair and has never been brave enough to chop it off, until now, of course.

And the result!

V.V. Brown Inspired

V.V. Brown has been my guilty pleasure the past few months. I love her music and her personal style is absolutely amazing. She has completely warped the vintage look to make it hip, moder and 100% her own.

One thing I completely love about Brown is that she is 5'11 and she totally embraces her body by comfortably wearing rompers, heels, outrageous patterns, and sleek fabrics. V.V. wears  a romper in her music video, "Shark in the Water" (along with her vintage rolled bangs), and completely sells it. I was always a little skeptic of rompers, especially for taller women, but she makes it feminine and elegant.

This spring play with different fabrics and patterns. Remember toe concious of your mid section, wearing prints and patterns that flatter you making you look lean and long.

Melissa Plastic Dreams

I am in the process of choosing between the three of these Melissa Plastic Dreams shoes, so I thought I would share. Melissa's plastic shoes are very unique and becoming more popular. A few of my friends in Brazil turned me on to them. Slowly, Melissa is releasing their spring shoe collection, so I will do a post once they are all released :p

Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson is a common topic in my house. My mom, sister and I love her. (Mostly my sister :p) Well, the other day we saw he Weight Watchers ad and how incredible gorgeous she is! J Hud has always been beautiful, but her transformation was incredible. Loosing 8 dress sizes is a big accomplishment for anyone.

Jennifer is living proof that your world can be shattered one day; and the next, all of your dreams are coming true and you are winning an Oscar.

East + West - Hottest Fashion Trends

All of you who have been watching Gossip Girl have observed the styles of Serena Van Der Woodsen and Lily Bass Humfrey have transcended the oceans to India as far as accessories are concerned they blend beautifully the cocktail dresses or gowns as well corporate attires or casual jeans very comfortably with Indian beads, stones and gold/ silver plated encrusted with gems and pearls or stones.

Today I will show you how I pair my Indian fashion accessories with a cocktail dress and how you can do it too with ease just like a Hollywood stylists or a Bollywood Actress.
If you are wearing a dress with a busy neck line do not wear any neck piece rather accentuate the look with chandelier Indian earrings and thick bracelet.

In this picture I am wearing a neckline that is gold lined with a lot of color and had an chinese neck pattern so instead of wearing an entire neckpiece I chose to pin the ends of the neck line with a broch studded with stones and gold plated. Since the broch is small and only highlights the neck line I wore hanging earrings and a thick bracelet. to amp up the whole look yet keep it very elegant and clean simple. The overall look and feel of this attire is semi formal/ party wear that can be attended both day and evening. Here is the close shots of the earrings and bracelet with the broch.

The broch and the earrings are gold plated and studded with stones of green, maroon, and tangerine with white stone around the pain piece.
